Two students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FST) at Undana are participating in an internship program at the University of Miyazaki, Japan

KUPANG - Nusa Cendana University (Undana) has sent two students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FST) to participate in an internship program at the University of Miyazaki, Japan. The two students are Andini G. Dimu, a student in the Civil Engineering program, and Ilhan Alim Al-Aziz, a student in the Mechanical Engineering program.

The two students were bid farewell in an event took place in the Rector's Room at Undana on Monday, November 27, 2023.

Undana's Rector, Prof. Dr. drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc, stated that as a university with a global-oriented vision, Undana has sent several students to various countries, including South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, and the United States.

Now, Undana is also sending two students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FST) to participate in an internship program in Japan.

Prof. Maxs Sanam advised the two students to gain valuable experiences while in Japan. Not only should they enhance their knowledge and technological skills, but they should also take the opportunity to learn about the culture.

"Students need to learn from the experiences and culture of the Japanese society, such as time management, discipline, respecting others, and so on," he emphasized.

As ambassadors of Undana, the Rector also hopes that the two students can uphold the good reputation of Undana in Japan.

"So that upon their return, it is expected that they can provide testimonials and share the experiences they gained with their friends here," he added.

Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that Undana is able to send students abroad due to financial support from Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) derived from student tuition fees (UKT).

Similarly, Vice Rector II for General Administration and Finance at Undana, Dr. Paul G. Tamelan, M.Si, conveyed that the dispatch of the two students involves a budget of around tens of millions of rupiah, covered through Undana's Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP).

Therefore, he requested that in the future, the faculties should also contribute, especially in the visa application process for students, and subsequently report to the Dean.

Dr. Paul also expressed hope that the two students can study well during their time in Japan, gaining knowledge that will be beneficial for both themselves and Undana.

For your information, the two students are accompanied by the Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Program in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FST), Prof. Dr. Ir. Denik Sri Krisnayanti, ST., MT, and the Coordinator of the Mechanical Engineering Program in the FST, Dr. Erich Umbu K. Maliwemu, ST., M.Eng. (rfl)
