KUPANG - As part of meeting the hospital's compliance with accreditation standards, the Universitas Nusa Cendana General Hospital (RSU Undana) underwent an inspection or survey by surveyors from the Hospital Accreditation Committee (KARS), chaired by Dr. Tjokorda Istri Agung Pemayun, M.Kes., FISQua, and Ns. Chandra Apriadi Panduwal, S.Kep., MNursing., FISQua as a member.
The online survey was conducted on November 20, 2023, and continued offline on November 21-22, 2023.
The Chair of the Accreditation Survey, Dr. Tjokorda Istri Agung Pemayun, M.Kes., FISQua, during the closing ceremony of the accreditation survey, ensured that Undana General Hospital would start accepting patients soon. Although the accreditation results were not disclosed, Dr. Tjokorda acknowledged that Undana General Hospital has several strengths, including support from the Undana leadership and the Undana General Hospital staff.
"Undana General Hospital has a visionary and energetic Director. There is a commitment to improving the quality and patient safety by the Undana leadership, the Directorate, and all hospital staff. Everyone is enthusiastic, which is the first thing I noticed during the survey," she said.

She added that Undana General Hospital has a unique value in its excellent services, has plans for service development, and is supported by competent human resources.
She also conveyed several opportunities for improving Undana General Hospital, including understanding care standards and implementing PATIENT CENTERED CARE (PCC), including compliance with medical record filling by PPA; improving education for all staff about regulations and their implementation; and monitoring the staff's compliance level in implementing regulations.
The Director of Undana General Hospital, dr. Efrisca M. Br. Damanik, M.Biomed, Sp.PA, MM, expressed gratitude to the surveyor team for carrying out their duties well until the last day.
Continuing the acknowledgment made by the Chair of the Surveyor, dr. Tjokorda, dr. Efrisca expressed optimism about the results that Undana General Hospital will achieve.
Indeed, she has set a target for Undana General Hospital to achieve full accreditation results.
In the future, once the accreditation results are obtained, she will coordinate with BPJS to establish cooperation. This way, the process of admitting general patients can be carried out promptly.
In concluding her remarks, she expressed gratitude to the Undana leadership for the unwavering support provided throughout the accreditation survey process.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Undana, Prof. Dr. drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc, welcomed the accreditation survey conducted by the surveyor team.
The Undana leadership fundamentally supports the sustainability and operation of Undana General Hospital in providing the best services to the people of East Nusa Tenggara, especially in Kupang City.
Although he did not mention a specific accreditation target for Undana General Hospital, Prof. Maxs hopes that once the results are obtained, Undana General Hospital can begin operations promptly to provide good, humane, and professional healthcare services to the community.

For your information, on the first day of the survey, the Director of Undana General Hospital, Dr. Efrisca M. Br. Damanik, M.Biomed., Sp.PA., MM, presented the hospital's profile and the activities of the PMKP and PROGNAS programs.
The event continued with document inspection by the surveyor, dr. Tjokorda Istri Agung Pemayun, M.Kes., FISQua, as the Head of the Survey Team, and Ns. Chandra Apriadi Panduwal, S.Kep., M.Nursing., FISQua, as a Member of the Survey Team.
On the second and third days, field visits were conducted to hospital service areas and facilities, including the Emergency Room (IGD), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), pharmacy, inpatient rooms, outpatient services, radiology installation, laboratory, medical records, nutrition installation, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), Operating Room (OR), and various hospital service units to directly observe the implementation of hospital service quality standards. Simulations of Code Blue, Code Red, proper handwashing techniques, and the use of Spill kits were also part of the surveyor's assessment. (rfl)
