The Rector of Nusa Cendana University (Undana) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with several other universities during Raker KPTN -KTI

Makassar - Hasanuddin University hosted the Working Meeting of the Consortium of State Universities in Eastern Indonesia (KPTN-KTI) for the 2023-2025 period. The meeting, held at Acacia Hall Hotel Claro Makassar on Saturday, September 21, 2023, brought together leaders and representatives from various universities in the eastern region of Indonesia.

From several agendas, Undana Rector Prof. Dr. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with several State Universities in the Eastern Region, including: Hasanuddin University, Lambung Mangkurat University, Gorontalo State University, Sam Ratulangi University, and Mataram University.

Unhas Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc, in his speech, emphasized the importance of the consortium in strengthening cooperation between universities in the eastern region of Indonesia. It is hoped that through this forum, universities in the eastern region can enhance their capacity and contribution on the national education stage.

"At present, the challenges for universities in the eastern region are very complex, ranging from issues of accessibility, education quality, to research and innovation. Through this working meeting, we are trying to find collective solutions to ensure that universities in the eastern region continue to develop," explained Prof. Jamaludin Jompa.

The Rector of Unhas expressed a significant responsibility in nurturing Unhas with a vision to continuously expand its influence and enhance its reputation on the national stage. Through active participation in KPTN-KTI, Unhas hopes to share experiences and learn together with other universities to achieve higher education standards.

"This includes efforts to strengthen collaboration with other universities within and outside the region, develop research and innovation, improve educational access, and build facilities and infrastructure that support these goals," added the Rector of Unhas.

Furthermore, said Prof. Jamaludin Jompa, this working meeting is a crucial step in realizing the vision to enhance the quality of education and research in the eastern region of Indonesia, making it competitive on the national and international stages. Universities in the eastern part of Indonesia are committed to continuing collaboration and innovation to achieve a larger common goal.

"This working meeting is expected to be a strategic momentum for universities in the eastern region to build networks, collaborate, and enhance the quality of education so that they can compete at the national and international levels," he concluded. (Eliz).
