KUPANG - The Rector of Nusa Cendana University (Undana), Prof. Dr. drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc, relaunched the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Investment Gallery, which is located in the Old Auditorium Building of Undana, on Thursday, August 17th, 2023. The launch event was a collaboration between PT Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), Philip Sekuritas Indonesia, and Undana.
The event was attended by the Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Annytha I. R. Detha, M. Sc, Vice Rector II for General Administration and Finance, Dr. Paul G. Tamelan, M. Sc, Vice Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Jefri S. Bale, ST., M.Eng, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Apriana H. J. Fanggidae, M. Sc, along with their teams, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Reny Rebeka Masu, MH., Representatives from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) and Philip Sekuritas Indonesia were also present.
During the occasion, Undana's Rector, Prof. Maxs Sanam, mentioned that the previous launch had taken place in 2016 by the late Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Frans Lebu Raya. At that time, the Rector stated, a total of 3,300 Undana students became members of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) and were included in the MURI record.
"This is something we appreciate, as we are continuing what we have collectively aspired for. If there are challenges, then with this new commitment, we must be even more enthusiastic in advancing the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Investment Gallery at Undana," said Prof. Maxs.
The BEI Investment Gallery, continued Undana's Rector, is not only important for the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), but for the entire academic community of Undana. Therefore, he urged everyone at Undana to commit to maintaining the existence of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Investment Gallery at Undana.
"With the presence of the investment gallery, what is learned in the classroom will certainly be aligned with what happens in the real world," said Prof. Maxs.
The Rector also hoped that the leadership of BEI NTT could share knowledge through seminars or public lectures, so that Undana's students can also understand the capital market and other related subjects.
The Head of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) NTT Representative Office, Adevi Sabath Sofani, stated that the relaunching of the BEI investment gallery brings forth many hopes. "Since its inauguration by the Governor of NTT in 2016, the BEI Investment Gallery at Undana is the only one that received the MURI record with 3,300 members," she explained.
She expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and Undana for their readiness to provide the best human resources and support for the relaunching of the BEI Investment Gallery at Undana. Adevi revealed that there is an annual gallery award program. Therefore, she hopes that the BEI Investment Gallery at Undana can strive to achieve excellence and even win the championship.
Regardless of whether the Practitioner Teaching program is offered or not, she welcomed the idea that if Undana requested, she and her team would be more than willing to become guest speakers in public lectures, particularly related to the capital market and other related topics.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Dr. Rolland E. Fanggidae, MM, explained that the BEI Investment Gallery at Undana was officially established in 2016 through a collaboration between BEI NTT and MNC Securities. However, due to considerations from BEI NTT and coordination with Undana, a relaunching was conducted. He mentioned that this investment gallery would serve as a learning resource about the capital market, stock exchange, and related topics. With the support of several FEB Undana alumni, he hoped that this positive example would be followed by Undana's students to succeed in the "Merdeka Belajar" (Freedom of Learning) program. (rfl)
