KUPANG - The Rector, Prof. Dr. drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc, officially inaugurated six officials within Nusa Cendana University (Undana). The swearing-in and inauguration ceremony took place at the Undana Rectorate Hall on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Among the six officials, Dr. William Djani, M.Si, was inaugurated as the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) for the term 2023-2027. As a lecturer in the Public Administration Program, he succeeded his colleague, Dr. Melkisedek N. B. C. Neolaka, M.Si.
Meanwhile, the other five officials who were inaugurated include the Coordinator of the Doctor of Environmental Science Program (S3) in the Postgraduate Program, Dr. Refli, M.Sc, the Coordinator of the Master of Communication Science (S2) Program in FISIP, Dr. Petrus Ana Andung, S.Sos., M.Si, the Coordinator of the Master of Management Program (S2) in the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. I Komang Arthana, M.Si, the Coordinator of the Master of Veterinary Science Program (S2) in the Faculty of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (FKKH), drh. Putri Pandarangga, MS., Ph.D, and the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Communication Science Program (S1) in FISIP, Dr. Yeremia Dj. Manafe, S.Sos, M.Si.
In his address, Undana Rector, Prof. Dr. drh. Maxs U. E. Sanam, M.Sc, conveyed congratulations and best wishes on the appointment of the six officials. On that occasion, the Rector emphasized several points to the newly appointed officials, including:
First, several study programs at Undana are currently entering the final simulation stage of international accreditation conducted by the Accreditation Board for Engineering, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics or Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN). Therefore, the support of all faculty and program leaders is essential.
Second, Prof. Maxs Sanam urged the program coordinators to pay attention to the duration of students' studies to avoid an increasing dropout rate among students.
"There needs to be intensive interaction between lecturers and students as an effort to shorten the duration of studies. Good communication among leaders and with students also needs to be considered while maintaining professional ethics," requested Prof. Maxs Sanam.
Finally, the Undana Rector also advised the newly appointed officials to uphold the oath and promises they have made until the end of their term. This way, the positions they hold can contribute to the progress of the programs and institutions.
