KUPANG - The team from the Directorate of Resources, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) conducted monitoring and evaluation (monev) of the management of laboratories and service innovation at the Integrated Bioscience Laboratory and several laboratories across various study programs (Prodi) at Nusa Cendana University (Undana).
The presence of the team from the Directorate of Resources, Directorate General of Higher Education, represented by Dr. Abdurahman and Jati Hayati, along with several staff, was received by the Vice Rector II for General Administration and Finance, Dr. Paul G. Tamelan, M.Si, in his office on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
Vice Rector II of Undana extends a warm welcome to the entire team from the Directorate General of Higher Education Resources to conduct monitoring and evaluation related to the management and service innovation of laboratories at Undana.
On that occasion, Dr. Paul Tamelan conveyed that the monitoring and evaluation (monev) is necessary for Undana to receive valuable recommendations based on real conditions in the field. Therefore, he expressed openness to receiving recommendations from the Directorate General of Higher Education Resources Monitoring and Evaluation Team.
Thus, these recommendations can serve as a reference for formulating policies to enhance resources and laboratory facilities at Undana.
After the meeting, the Directorate General of Higher Education Resources Team immediately headed to the Bioscience Lab to monitor various facilities and human resources.

In addition to the monitoring, the Monitoring and Evaluation Team also held meetings with several administrators and laboratory staff at Undana.
As per Undana's Public Relations team's observations, the Monitoring and Evaluation Team received numerous inputs regarding longstanding facilities, inadequate rooms for various equipment, and the availability of laboratory assistants.
To the laboratory managers, Dr. Abdurahman and Jati Hayati advised that in the future, Undana should propose Civil Service Recruitment (CPNS) positions, both as Civil Servants (ASN) and as Government Employee with Employment Agreement (PPPK) as Educational Laboratory Officers (PLP). Dr. Abdurahman emphasized that, at a minimum, each laboratory in the study program should be staffed with two PLP or one technical personnel.
For such proposals, Jayati said, "Undana needs to recommend the laboratory staff who have been in service before."
Meanwhile, specifically for the Integrated Bioscience Laboratory, the Monitoring and Evaluation Team praised the quality of the standardized infrastructure, while emphasizing the importance of continuing to add PLP staff. Additionally, the development of PLP competencies should be carried out in the future while awaiting recommendations that will be followed up by Undana's leadership.
Present at the occasion were the Head of the Integrated Bioscience Laboratory, Dr. Dodi Darmakusuma, S.Si., M.Si, Technical Manager, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Antonius R. B. Ola, M.Sc, along with several staff members from the Integrated Bioscience Laboratory at Undana. #bureaucraticreform #integrityzone (rfl)
